This area will be of even less interest to viewers and quite frankly complicated dental surgery is more fun than reading this. So, OPEN UP WIDE!!! But in all seriousness, this site has been created by somebody who loves to dive and wants to share. I have been diving since 2003 and now have approximately 270 dives logged. My dive log page has not been updated so this does not match, but I have noticed the quality control on this site is severely lacking. I think I am going to pass that buck to somebody else. But to whom can I pass it?
I just love to be underwater. I am not one of those divers who will only dive if there is something exciting to see. A large number of my dives have taken place at the same site (Cedar Hill in Wiarton, Ontario) where once you have seen the "sunken treasures", you have seen them. I am usually underwater just because I love it.
I certified in the Dominican but roughly 80% of my dives are cold water ranging from 35 degrees C to 70 degrees C. And all of these dives have been done with a 7mm wetsuit. I have yet to take the plunge (pardon the pun) into a drysuit. As you can tell, I love to take pictures underwater, and think that I have improved significantly over the years. Some of this is I have upgraded my camera equipment and am now using a Nikon Coolpix 5000 with complete Ikelite housing and strobe package. I love it, and as the shots have improved, I have enjoyed sharing them even more. I am still far from professional (obvious since I would not be able to utilize an SLR camera to save my life...."F-stop? What?" "F-stop this" would be my reply) but there has been improvement and I hope to get even better.
One huge problem I have found with being a diver in Southern Ontario, the lack of diving! Granted, there are a number of charters that you can take, but for somebody who wants to be underwater almost every weekend, wow would the $$$ add up. I love to shore dive because pack diving is annoying. I am a very relaxed and slow diver who likes to look at what is in front of me rather than race past everything to see if something more exciting is around the next coral formation. For this reason, I have tried to include some information on sites around here. There are more and I will try to dive them and add information on them. I am trying to help out other divers from around here because I found it was a pain to get this sort of information. If you have anything you would like me to add, send me an email or submit comments via my submission page linked off my dive sites page.
It has been my good fortune to get in with a good dive shop and meet dive buddies that match my skill, experience, diving style and interests almost to the 'T'. This has helped me keep my passion for diving alive. I am unable to drive past a body of water and not wonder what it would be like to dive in it (does not matter shape, size or colour). What I have verges on an obsession with diving. I considered working in a dive related field however my brain came around. I do not want working at something I love so much to take away from it and make it less special. I do not want to lose the fire I have to always get underwater and I fear that will happen if I work in the field.
Anyways, now that I have put you to sleep and you have woken up from your nap, wipe the drool off your chin. And fix your hair....you have bedhead. By the way, YOU SNORE!
As stupid as this page is, I do hope you have enjoyed looking at my site and pictures. I will never try to convince anybody I am a professional website developer but I am using this as the means to share. Stop by often as I am always trying to tweak it and add new things. This primarily comes after a trip but I am always playing.
