| Cayo Coco is one of many islands which surround Cuba. It is located on the north side of the island and therefore touches the Atlantic Ocean. There is an International Airport in Cayo Coco (airport code is CCC). Flying into and out of this airport seemed rather streamlined. There was a line up at the ticket counter however there was nothing in exit immigration and security. IT was almost a pleasure but I use that term loosely. The universally used currency throughout Cuba is the CUC (or Convertible Peso). When on the island(s), there is a significant charge applied to credit card transactions (to the effect of 11+ percent) so you are better off buying the CUC's once and spending cash rather than charging everything to your credit card. |
