I will start out by apologizing to the fairer sex (that which is not capable of tainting things with a Y chromosone). I only use this title because woman have had the bad rap in the past of not travelling light.

Well, I do carry the Y chromosone and am NOT capable of travelling light. I believe I am personally responsible for the airlines making whatever profit they do (or I have limited their losses) because every time I travel, it seems like I am negotiating with a ticket agent over what extra fees I should be charged. I am now fighting with myself over whether it is worth bringing all my own scuba equipment to Cayo Coco next week just in case we do lots of dives. No matter what I will always travel with my reg set and computer, but my battle is over the BCD, suit etc.. When I travel somewhere like Bonaire, there is no question. All I intend to do there is dive. This trip is a little different because I am hoping to get a couple of dives in but that is all.

Likely I will not bring everything and for once NOT be the person who is holding up the ticket counter. As much as I prefer to dive with all my own equipment, I know as long as I have my regs and computer, mask and fins, I will be OK.

So how do you do when you travel? Are we both making the airlines "rich"?
