I came accross this article and just loved it because it was so hard on Rogers Communications. I have been bending over for these guys for quite some time now and love the idea of anybody laying the boots to them. I cannot say they are the only bad providers in Canada, but the are tied for the worst with one other (Ma....rhymes with smell....). If you compare prices between Canada and the USA....well you will just want to move to the USA. I know I am the proud consumer of Blackberry bandwidth via the Rogers network and was thoroughly disgusted when I found out just how badly we Canadians were being taken advantage of by our illustrious providers like Rogers and Bell.
So when the big news was announced that the iPhone was coming to Canada....I was not too excited because it is just another opportunity for me to pay and outrageous purchase price for the hardware and then to be bent over even worse while they take my first, second, third and fourth born to pay for bandwith consumption. And when I heard that Rogers would be the lucky reseller? Well, I just felt ill. Am I a pessimist or an optimist or a realist? Let's just say I trust Rogers will do the right thing about as much as I believe that I will be independently wealthy before I am done typing this sentence. FYI...I am still not independently wealthy so there ya go.
I think some day we will get some better competition in Canada and will see our lives become a little less expensive to live. Unfortunately, I do not see that in the near future. After all, why should my data program cost me less than a tank of gas? AIN'T NO REASON!
