How would you like it if you went about your early morning ritual as you do every morning. This ritual involves getting up and going for your daily LAP swim at 6:00 AM at the local beachside pool (otherwise known as a bath). You do your laps in the dark and go home to get cleaned up for work. You shower, maybe shave, do your hair and drive into work. Then, while you enjoy your first cup of coffee at your desk you figure you can read the news for a couple minutes. Then, you read an article about the fact that they just removed a shark from the pool you were just swimming in….How would you react?
I am not afraid of sharks and have in fact gone on Shark Feeding dives (not the cage dives but also not great whites) and would love to do it again. HOWEVER, if I found out that there was a shark swimming just below me in the dark in a confined space (hmmmm...I guess he was not hungry since he passed up the only thing on the menu), I think I would approach that water with apprehension the next time in the dark.
I do think this is a neat story coming out of Sydney, Australia though. FYI….the link to the Google map above is only an example of the “pool/bath” and not where the shark was necessarily found. I just wanted to see what they were talking about. You do not find them in Southern Ontario that is for sure.
