OK so here is the situation. I am out and about looking to buy something that I need. So I go to a couple stores and am not impressed with what they have so I keep looking and end up at Home Depot. I find something there that I kind of like but have some questions. We wander around the entire "department" looking for anybody with an orange apron (thankfully not many people wear them unless they are employees) but see nobody. So we end up at the paint counter asking if they know who we can talk to and after discussions with 2 other people they simply page "Seasonal Associate to Patio furniture please" and repeat it twice more. At that point it had been 10 minutes and after waiting another 10 after the page, I went looking again. There he was, my seasonal helper chatting on the phone. So I stand right behind him so he can see me in the reflection in the window he is looking out and after a couple minutes he ends the conversation. He follows me out to where we were standing and I ask my questions. He does his best to ansdwer them and then says "We do not have any stock on this model and I cannot seel the floor model and we are not ordering any more in". The obvious question that I just had to ask was "Why would you keep it on the floor on display if you have no itentions of selling it or bringing in new inventory to sell?" All he could do was say that it was the Manager that made those decisions which I am sure is true, but come on....if you will not sell it, get it off your floor.
This is a pet peeve of mine because business and customer service are fairly simple when you boil them down. Yes it is impossible to keep every single person happy, but why "poke the bear" by doing things like this?
Just my 2 cents. Do I owe you change?
