| I know that this is going to sound like a tall fishing tale, but when I first saw the size of this Barracuda (taken within the Xel-Ha park boundaries), I thought the whole 25% magnification was 125%. Believe it or not this is close to 4 feet long. I have never seen a barracuda this size before and would probably not believe it had I not seen with my own eyes. |
| I am not sure yet what this fish is but the sword feature you see is actually attached to its bottom lip/jaw. There were a number of them around and always swimming just beneath the surface as you see here. |

| This was taken at the Akumal public beach. This is a $10 USD cab ride from the Grand Sirenis resort and has some incredible snorkeling. You can pay up to $35 for a Turtle adventure elsewhere and this one is free. We saw large and small turtles, squid, rays, barracuda and lots of fish. Be careful of boaters in the bay and they will be careful of you. |
