| Tobermory has been named the Scuba Diving Capital of Canada. Tobermory plays host to several great shore dives and a plethora of wrecks ranging from Beginner to Technical dives. Diving in Tobermory, you are actually diving in Fathom Five National Marine Park of Canada and their rules dictate that on all shore dives you must pull your flag with you. Divers must also register with them and pay an annual (or daily) fee. The fee is around $20 Canadian (2010 but not guaranteed) for an annual tag or less for a daily tag. The three charter operators in Tobermory are Divers Den, Tobermory Aquasports and G&S Watersports . Divers Den and G&S are both located across from the primary boat launch in town while Aquasports is a little further out of town. Of the three, I recommend Divers Den for charters however they are all well respected by most. |
